From Tree Branches to Safe Swings: The Power of Our New Playground in Rural Rwanda
This story highlights the transformative impact of a new playground built by Move Up Global in rural Rwanda, near the Volcanoes National Park. Previously, children had no access to safe play areas and resorted to swinging on tree branches, often resulting in injuries. The new playground, equipped with swings and slides, not only provides a safe space for physical activity but also encourages school attendance and enhances educational outcomes.

A Journey of Learning and Giving: Hartwick College and Move Up Global’s Impact in Rwanda
During the 2024 J-Term, Professor Elizabeth Bloom and 11 Hartwick students embarked on an inspiring journey to Rwanda. They served as teaching assistants in the Nyabiehe and Rwinzovu schools, fulfilling a crucial requirement for education students to gain hands-on experience. This trip allowed Hartwick students to collaborate with Rwandan teachers, applying student-centered pedagogy in a new cultural context.
Tufts Students Joined Move Up Global to Implement One Health and Health Passport in Rural Rwanda

Move Up Global and World Shoe Fund Join Forces to Fight Neglected Tropical Diseases in Rural Rwanda
Move Up Global has signed a new partnership with the World Shoe Fund, a global initiative that provides shoes to children in need. The partnership will also involve the development and validation of bundled interventions to eliminate NTDs, based on the Knot Framework, a novel approach that builds strong linkages between communities, schools, and primary health facilities.

Vilma and Nancy launched the Soap for Hope project, which involves making and selling soap in Boston and sending the proceeds to support teachers in Rwanda. They also taught Rwandan teachers how to make soap themselves, using locally available materials.
