Basic School Supplies

Lack of basic school supplies and textbooks is one of the major causes of absenteeism and dropouts. We assist students in most need. Current and future opportunities for support include provision of:

  • School supplies

  • Textbooks

  • IT equipment

  • Audio-visual equipment

Over 93% of targeted students are in primary school

Access to Quality Education

We leverage our partnership to improve the quality of education and explore opportunities for professional development. Our current and future priorities include:

  • English language support

  • Teacher coaching and exchange program

  • Innovative/creative educational support

  • Education facility and systems improvement

  • Student and teacher performance improvement

As our pilot projects grow to capacity, we are ready to expand.  Some of our next projects include:

Social Entrepreneurship

Poverty remains a major cause of poor school performance and dropouts. The World Bank reported that 63% of Rwandans live below the international poverty line ($1.25 a day). Social entrepreneurship is at the heart of our theory of change. Current and future priorities include:

  • Innovation and social entrepreneurship lab.

Health and Community Wellbeing

Frequent infections worsen poverty and limit academic performance. We integrate basic health sciences into education. We also prepare the youth to address major public health challenges. Current and future priorities include:

  • Prevention of neglected tropical diseases (i.e. intestinal worms)

  • Menstrual health

  • First aid and emergency preparedness

  • Water and sanitation

  • Malaria and Nutrition
